Nothing says a summer day like fresh squeezed lemonade. My four year old would drink it all day everyday if we would let him!! We love to make it at our house and of course we use our vintage Pyrex carafe! LilMan is a pro at squeezing the lemons! I love making these memories with my family, and I am certain LilMan will look back at these times forever!
Making a simple syrup makes the best Lemonade! This is a quick and easy recipe you can have it done in 10 minutes or less. We usually drink it in 10 minutes or less as well!!!
Our Sweet Summer Lemonade:
- 2 Cups White Sugar
- 8 Cups Water
- 2 cups Lemon Juice (I usually just use a whole bag of lemons)
Bring 2 cups of water and your sugar to a boil in a saucepan, stirring occasionally. While making the simple sugar, juice your lemons into your pitcher, making sure you get all of the seeds out, but keeping the pulp. Set the syrup aside and let cool. Add the remaining cups of water to the pitcher. (I also add a little ice because we can’t wait to drink it!) Add your cooled simple syrup. * Remember, adding a hot liquid to cold glass can cause it to shatter!
Take a test sip; sometimes I have to add a bit more water to make it just right, just depends if your taste buds like tart or sweet!! Hope you enjoy as much as we do! Lemon water is healthy, right!?!?
